Church of Ireland Hockey Club, Garryduff is an open mixed hockey club based in Garryduff, Rochestown in the suburbs of Cork City. The club has over two hundred regular adult playing members of all ages and abilities in Men's and Ladies' sections, and fields six men's teams and seven Ladies teams every weekend throughout the season.
The Club has a state of the art waterbased pitch with an all seated covered stand. We also have a sandbased pitch.
The Club owes its success to its thriving award winning youth section which is led by a former Olympian player. Children are coached weekly in various age groups from 7 years old and upwards.
Our Men’s team compete in the All Ireland League and both the men’s and ladies teams compete in every division in Munster hockey and both our 1st and 2nd teams compete in the Irish Senior and Junior Cups. The club has a long established sand based pitch, and also installed a state of the art water based pitch in 2005 along with an all seated viewing area. This stadium has successfully hosted senior international matches featuring national senior sides like Canada, Italy and Egypt.
The club currently has two senior male Internationals who represent Ireland on a regular basis. We also have many more former internationals currently playing at all levels. The club has a proud history of having its players represent Ireland with distinction not just at senior level but right up from school boy’s level.
The stadium has successfully hosted senior and underage international tournaments featuring teams from Canada, Italy, Egypt, Scotland, England & Wales.
The club was established in 1911 and has won the Club Championships once, the Irish Senior Cup four times and the Irish Junior Cup four times. Our most recent Junior Cup success was in 2009.
